Africa

    1. I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that Nick Brandt's photographs of these animals are truly amazing. I love how these images were filled with natural beauty of nature in the East African wild. I liked how he did not use a telephoto lens to include the sky and landscape which I think is just as important as the animals themselves.

    3. This photo is of two lions comforting each other. This photo is my favorite because it shows these big, strong, tough animals being so gentle towards each other in their natural habitat and this is the reason that there is so much beauty captured in just this one photo.

   4. One rule of photography in this photo is balance because for the most part it is showing the same thing on both sides (if you were to cut the photo in half.)

    5. He does not use a telephoto or a zoom lens, instead he uses a Pentax 6711 camera with 2 fixed lenses. This is important because he believes that you can capture the soul of the image this way.

    6. He takes these photos to illustrate the beauty of Africa's wildlife in their natural habitat.

    7.  He hopes that not only will these people fall in love with these pictures but also be inspired and motivated to help out these beautiful animals.

    8. "'There is something profoundly iconic, mythological even, about the animals of East and Southern Africa. There is also something deeply, emotionally stirring and affecting about the plains of Africa -those vast, green rolling plains punctuated by graphically perfect acacia trees under the huge skies.'"
