Phobia Project
A) A phobia is a person's extreme or irrational fear of an object or situation. When the phobia is presented to that person, they may react stressed or scared.
B) Anuptaphobia- The fear of staying single
Geliophobia- The fear of laughter
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia- The fear of long words
Mnemophobia- The fear of memories
Nephophobia- The fear of clouds
C) For my first picture I plan on doing Geliophobia (the fear of laughter). For this picture I plan to take it in a very crowded and noisy background such as a cafeteria, with people smiling and laughing. I want the focus of my picture to be on one person in the middle of all this laughter with a serious face and looking a little frightened. For their body language I will have them be a little hunched over to make them appear a little closed off from all of the laughter aound them.
For my seond picture I have chosen Anuptaphobia (the fear of staying single). For this picture instead of showing the person's fear I want to show the subject trying to eliminate their fear, by trying to start a relationship. For this picture I will have only two subjects, a guy and a girl that will be talking to eachother and trying to start an interesting conversatioin. for this picture I will take it vertically so it focuses more on the two bodies instead of what is going on behind them.
For my third photo I chose Bathmophobia (the fear of stairs or steep slopes). For this picture I plan to have the main subject be put infront of a school staircase. I plan to have other people walk up and down the staircase, except for my main subject who will be standing still at the bottom of the stairs facing toward the stair steps. To emphasize my subject's fear and make it easy to understand, my iewpoint will be very important in this picture. I will take the picture at the top of the stairs focusing on the subject at the bottom, suggesting that they are too scared to walk up.
D) Geliophobia- create depth (through the different rows of lunch tables infront or behind the subject.
Anuptaphobia- framing or cropping so that it can focus in on just those two people.
Bathmophobia- lines ( of the staircase steps) to lead the person's eye to the subject at the bottom.
