"I'm so glad to be given this award because I've worked very hard for it and I try my very best in school," Bowie's Student of the Month Ava Nielsen said.
Ava Nielsen has the highest GPA of her entire freshman class and takes all PreAp classes.
"I feel like I've earned this award because I have good grades in all of my classes and I work very hard. I make straight A's and I have the highest GPA out of my freshman class so I wasn't surprised when I got this award but I was still very excited and grateful," Ava Nielsen said.
At home Ava Nielsen studies for 4 hours each day and spends most of her free time on weekdays on homework.
"I study for each class for about an hour each school day and I spend a lot of my time at home working hard on school work and projects, so it's nice to see that my hard work has payed off," Ava Nielsen said.
Ava Nielsen plans on going to her dream college Juilliard and thanks Star Wars character Han Solo for inspiring her to do great things.
"My goals now are to get into my Juilliard which is my dream school so I really hope I get in. I knew I wanted to go there ever since I saw Han Solo on television because he gave me a desire to achieve my goals," Ava Nielsen said.
